Introduction
So, I was the only designer and UX specialist on this project, and I was asked to give ITDS' website a facelift. What started as a UX audit quickly turned into a full-blown website redesign adventure where I got to use my design skills to make their website look amazing.
Cast
In this play, I was the main character, and I had a team behind me that included a Project Manager from the client's side, a content marketing pro, and an SEO agency offering guidance.
Challenges: Plot Twists & Turns
The main quests of this redesign adventure were:
- Making their website easier to use: The website was outdated and needed to be optimized for two user groups - businesses looking to hire IT professionals and IT candidates searching for opportunities.
- Increasing conversion rates: The goal was to turn the website into a gateway for both potential clients looking to hire IT professionals and prospective IT candidates looking for job opportunities.
- Making ITDS' offerings more visible and accessible: We wanted to make sure that both user groups could easily find what they were looking for.

Method: The Adventure Blueprint
First, I did a UX audit of their existing website and identified areas that needed work. Then, I created a teaser UX audit for the hero section, pointing out the elements that could be improved.
After that, I got feedback from everyone involved, mapped out areas for improvement, and created a general strategy for addressing the issues.
Next, I designed the basic structure and components of the new website, working closely with a content marketing partner. To make things easier, we used a tool called Frontitude, which connected Figma with copywriters, allowing them to provide text for all tabs easily.

Final Design: The Reveal
After going through several iterations and getting feedback, we presented a clickable prototype to stakeholders. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with a few minor amendments suggested for replacing some sections or adding extra content.

Conclusion: Credits Roll
Overall, working on the ITDS website redesign was a fun journey. From conducting a comprehensive UX audit to spearheading a total website redesign, this project was a testament to the power of good UX and design in transforming the face of a business.
A few takeaways from this project:
- Websites, like fashion, can become outdated. Regular refreshes and audits can keep them up-to-date with the latest aesthetics and UX practices.
- A website is often the first point of contact between a business and its audience, so it's crucial to meet user expectations.
- Tools that facilitate collaboration between different teams (like "Frontitude" for designers and copywriters) can be a game-changer, saving time and enhancing the final product.
